Sacrosanct contains four distinct neighborhoods, each with their own specific kind of houses and residents. Explore our districts, view lists of our citizens and enjoy our block parties!
Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Samantha Cassidy
The brilliant smiles that the Fae King rewarded her with had been enough to see Samantha relax regarding the evening, though that ease had been wiped away that instant the vampire stepped through the threshold and into their apartment. Of all the vampires in all of Sacrosanct - and Samantha was assured that there were hundreds - Dorian had chosen to fall in love with this one. And it was love between the two men that stood before them. If she hadn't been able to feel it by her power, she could tell merely by the glances that were passed between the two. God, why did it have to be this vampire. She would have taken any other one on the face of the Earth - save for perhaps the child - and she was stuck entertaining the one that had fed from her. Great. Even despite the way that she struggled to maintain composure with the vampire, she could feel the way Dorian's own emotions spiked towards that confusion. The instant the fae suggested that they sit down, Samantha let out a barely audible explanation that she would go get the food before she darted back into the safety of the kitchen.
Within moments, Dorian was at her side and drawing that attention up to his features. The concern that had been on Dorian's face for weeks - ever since he had walked in on her crying - and Samantha hated that she had mucked up their dinner with her own selfish feelings. "I'm okay," She promised him, moving to lean into his touch for just a moment before she allowed him to leave her side once more. And even if she was most definitely not okay, she would show Dorian nothing less. He was right. She had nothing to fear as long as he was alongside her. She turned then, watching the way that Dorian relaxed in that chair alongside his lover. He looked so happy, and he deserved that. After everything he did for her...
The Queen returned to the table a moment later, setting the dish of the chicken in the middle of the table before she settled within her own chair. Though for the first time, Samantha could relate to how Dorian simply did not choose to eat. Her hunger had vanished even though minutes before she had been entirely famished. She only eyed the dish that smelled so pleasant, the girl utterly confused as to the French lyrics that passed from Dorian's lips. She knew he must have been reassuring the vampire about her demeanor, and yet Samantha was too spent to care that she was being spoken of. It was only once the Italian King switched so effortlessly back to English did she look up, explaining the night that they had run into each other.
The girl's lip immediately quirked into a smile. "I am most impressed that you have stopped calling it a bicycle bike, Dorian," She said with a chuckle, focusing the entirety of her gaze on the faerie. She remembered that day so fondly. Dorian had been the entire reason that she had began to trust her own species. They couldn't all be so bad when there was Dorian in this world. "I couldn't just let you stay on the streets. Sacrosanct can be dangerous." She couldn't help the way her eyes flitted then over to the vampire. He had been one of the reasons that Samantha had came to that realization. That attack had been what had made her realize that she wasn't quite as safe as she had previously thought. She wanted to be civil for Dorian, and yet she couldn't deny herself that desire for answers about what had occurred that night. Particularly, she wanted to know why she couldn't move - the girl remained positive that that power belonged to the vampire that sat across from her.
