Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Sebastian Ellington

Though that shift closer towards him was entirely subtle in those tender moments, the vampire saw little reason to not wholly take advantage of that desire for attention his lover displayed. In fact, he eagerly and wholeheartedly embraced that opportunity, pulling his lover against him and into a position he enjoyed far more. Sebastian relished in that closeness between them, he yearned for it, more often than not. Dorian had become a sort of drug - one he simply could not have enough of no matter the year that had passed between them. That warm chuckle that reverberated within the King's throat was met with but a warm grin across his features and yet, he had little regret in that decision to move. Rather, he leaned against that plush leather, entirely content to listen to the fae as he spoke of his parents and that love the two had found. It was a tale perhaps as old as time and yet, there was a certain beauty to be found in that simple knowledge that they had once had each other. Sebastian could hardly even tell if his own parents had truly been fated for each other, even despite those fond memories of them both.

It was that idle inquiry of what happened to that string after the death of one of those individuals that drew his thoughts from his own parents. A small shrug crossed his shoulders as he made an effort to offer some answer before simply inquiring if Dorian would like to see that which he saw. After all, he knew well that, for some things, the King learned best by studying them himself. He was hardly surprised, truly, by the fashion at which Dorian so seemed to jump at that opportunity and yet, it was that question of what might happen in the centuries to come to his father that so saw him pause. A small frown crossed his lips as he considered that inquiry and yet, Sebastian found himself without any true answer. "I...suppose it is possible that he may find another some day....I mean...there are those theories that the soul never truly dies. Some believe we are simply reincarnated into another form. I have seen people with multiple soul mates. I would not count anything out." Though he too suspected Matteo may not have wanted such a being to once again enter his life, love had a funny way of working in ways that were entirely unanticipated.

Even so, for now, at least, Matteo was free of any such attachment to another being and, in turn, Sebastian was entirely willing to turn his attention to that tale his lover spoke of involving his own early years and those sacrifices his parents had made to ensure his continued life, bleek though it had been to the Italian Prince. That guilt that so filled the man was hardly surprising, truly, though the vampire had been making an effort to so convince the fae that there had been far more to his father ever since he'd met the man in Italy. It was, however, his very nature to attempt to assuage those feelings that assaulted his lover. After all, there were still years upon years laid out before him in which they might so remedy those that had already passed. His head bobbed ever so slightly at that notion of all the time they had to make up for and yet, he could hardly help that small smile that settled on his lips. "You do...but you also have all the time in the world to make those mends. Besides, you finally have your father. That's exciting no matter what, isn't it?" He inquired, simply watching the fae even in spite of those near teasing words. It was certainly tragic, really, that he gained his paternal figure after all these years and yet....finally Dorian had some resemblance of a family again. Surely that was worth far more than all that guilt and sorrow?

Sebastian leaned forward ever so slightly, nuzzling his nose against his lover's neck in a small, playful sort of affection. The sound of that chuckle caused that smile to brighten upon his lips, though even it was but fleeting in the wake of that near innocent question of his own childhood. Truly, he had little reason to be so....melancholy at the mention of his youth. Unlike his lover, Sebastian had grown up in a home that was entirely affectionate, warm, and welcoming in comparison to the cold walls of that palace. Those relationships he'd crafted with each of those family members were near and dear to his heart and yet - it was that which so brought the vampire such sorrow. It was rare, truly, that the vampire spoke of his family, and rarer still that he mentioned his mother at all if only for how little he knew of the woman who had given him life. He remembered near nothing of her, that knowledge he'd gained was through his father's rare mention and that painting of her that hung upon his family's walls in Belton. They and that love for music was all he had of the woman. It was silly, that it was for her he had so dedicated himself to that piano and yet, he had so longed for some piece of her that, to a young boy's mind, he had been willing to entertain such silly notion. That soft assurance that she would surely have been proud of all he was capable of with those ebony and ivory keys brought a small simper to his lips, "I would like to hope so." He uttered softly, in a nearly wistful fashion.

Those thoughts of his mother, however, hardly lingered as the vampire allowed that conversation to shift to the woman whom had truly raised him - the one he so often meant when he said those words 'my mother'. Her death had been difficult upon their family and the children she had left behind and yet, that inquiry of how she had died only caused his head to bob ever so slightly. "Yes, there were complications that took both her and what would have been my third sister from us." It was hardly uncommon at the time, he supposed, and yet that didn't make it any easier on his father to lose both souls. Still, for all the pain it had caused, it had been...nice to see his father and his sisters one last time before they died. Though he had been unable to be there for his brother, he had been nothing short of diligent in being there for them. He fell silent in the wake of all those words he spoke of his own family for several long moments until one whispered admittance left his lips. That slight shift of the Monarch within his arms drew his gaze, those lips pressed so delicately against his jaw, prompting the return of that small smile. Dorian's assurance that his family had been worth missing coaxed yet another small shrug from his shoulders. "I know....my brother would have liked you, I think..." He uttered after a moment's consideration, entirely certain of what his closest sibling would have so thought of his lover. He supposed, really, his father would have been proud to see him in the bed of someone of a higher status than themselves, once he got over the whole same sex affair and yet...that was not nearly the same as the openness John would have so given them.

His thoughts were pulled from the man he so desperately missed by that notion of that newfound family they were in the process of putting together. Though they were certainly nothing short of 'mismatched', as Dorian had put it, he quite found he liked them all the same. It was, however, that notion of a Godfather, that saw his eyebrows raise ever so slightly. "Really? Ma Biche, you have gained quite a family nearly overnight." He commented, nearly teasing his lover once again on how his lover's family had so grown. In truth, he welcomed that change of topic, letting it drift easily from those heavy ones that still demanded to be discussed to something lighter and....silly. His head tilted to the side in an inquisitive fashion and yet, even so, Sebastian was never one to not readily agree. "I would." He commented, his blue eyes so fluttered towards the doorframe as Dorian called for that young woman, entirely unexpecting the fashion his lover had sent Elizabeth to fetch a mere magazine from his study. He could hardly help that look of curiosity that remained ever more intense upon his features as the brightly colored magazine was handed towards his lover sometime later - at least, until those pages were flipped open to an article that features entirely himself.

He could hardly help that groan upon his lips at that large printed title. "Really?" He commented with a hint of disbelief and yet, even so, he still found himself listening with some measure of skepticism to the rules of that little printed quiz. His gaze briefly brushed over those questions as his lover pointed out the first one that pertained to his favorite color and, his age, as if this somehow predestined him with any sort of soul. It was, however, that notion of his favorite song that saw the vampire scoff. "Brown-eyed girl? Bloody Hell, they could have at least made it Lady In Red or something." At the very least they could have chosen a British song! Any hope he'd had for this article was quickly falling down the drain as Dorian continued in a voice that almost made Sebastian expect the worst out of the next question. That notion of roasted chicken, however, prompted a rather ungentlemanly snot from his nose. "I was not aware of my love affair with something so utterly bland. Can we contact this magazine and inform them how awful their information was?" He inquired, almost serious with that suggestion. "Please tell me that my soul mate doesn't entirely hinge upon your ability to identify my favorites. Jesus, I can only imagine what your list must look like." He peered down ever inquisitively at that magazine, almost curious of those other rumors that article intended to spread as facts.
