South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

SILENT IN MY SANITY Carson Benedetto

In the darkness that surrounds me
I see my own special hell

A 1970 Chevelle was parked slightly banked on the side of the dirt road. A road that was one lane and split from the main. It was aged and the bumper rusty. The once bright, beautiful red it was painted had faded over the years. It was a miracle it could even drive, but this vehicle was all Cole had.

And it was all he needed.

Carson had managed to quiet the beast inside Cole, but even she could only keep it content for so long. It clawed and tortured him, little by little, from one day to the next. When the memories were no longer satisfying, his perverse thoughts quickly turned into an addictive throb. It wasn't enough just remembering the lives he had taken. Cole missed the thrill, the risk, the absolute power of killing another living person. And on this night, when he believed Carson was out trying to work on her business, the beast finally won its battle. Cole jumped into his Chevelle late in the evening and headed for the shittest part of the city he could find. And there he stalked for the perfect prey. It wasn't so much what he was looking for, but the opportunity.

He found a prostitute who called herself Amélie. She had a French accent, and appeared to be coming down from a drug binge and looking to make some money to refuel it. A foreigner, without family, a drug addict; no one will miss her. And after a short agreement of $20 for oral, she willingly climbed into the passenger seat and Cole drove off. The Outskirts were close and soon the city lights faded. Only the headlights of his Chevelle lit the night road, the moon was covered by clouds.

He turns down the dirt road and parks it. Covered by the thickness of the forest, it was eerily quiet. He turns off the engine, but the battery keeps the radio playing. On it, Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood played. Amélie took it as the sign that this was the place to start, and as she reached over, twitchy and obviously wanting to get this over with quickly, she unbuttons his jeans. Tucked beside his seat, cleverly between the driver's door, he reaches down and pulls out a leather belt. It was already loosely fastened, and all he needed to do was put it around her throat and yank it for it to tighten in a death's grip. He's fast and experienced in this and she had no time to even react.

His left hand keeps her head pinned down as he uses his right to pull the other end back as hard as he could. She struggles, kicks and even tries to oddly bite him in his thigh. "Shhhh, shhhh." When she slowly loses consciousness, Cole stops. She wasn't dead, but knocked out.

He gets out of the car and opens the trunk, quickly buttoning his jeans back up. There, a black duffle bag waited for him. He picks it up and throws the strap over his head and lets it rest across his chest. He opens it up and pulls out a pair of zip-ties and a red dress tie before zipping the bag back up and letting it swing to his back. He uses the zips to bound her wrists behind her back, and ties the red tie as a gag around her mouth. She was small and light, and so Cole easily gets her from the car and carries her like a bride over the threshold. He then wanders off into the darkness of the forest, slowly, trying to adjust to the limited light. He walks for nearly 10 minutes or so before he comes to a creek. Carefully, almost lovingly, he places her on the cold ground and takes off the bag.

He takes off his grey hoodie to reveal a plain white shirt underneath. He bends down and unzips his bag. He pulls out a white nylon rope, a hunting knife and a loaded .357 Magnum Colt Python. Inside was also an entirely new set of clean clothes, pill bottles of sleeping pills and strong painkillers, along with many different types of ropes of all colors and lengths. In the silence of preparing whatever it was he was going to do to this poor girl, Cole thinks he hears a twig snap. This causes him to grab the gun and slowly get up, looking at the still unconscious Amélie first. "It would be wise to just show yourself." He says in his soft voice, looking at the trees for any sign of an unwanted guest.
