East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Miyako continued to kick at herself, she couldn't believe she didn't ask the landlord more about her new roommate. A rather irresponsible move on her part; she had simply assumed it would be another woman, and that said "woman" would be here hardly ever. When Arlo calls out to her again, her cheeks tinge pink once more but this time in anger, rather than embarrassment. Folding her delicate arms over her chest, her bottom lip sticking out in an almost pout fashion, "My name is not 'babe', please don't call me as such," she states, her voice quiet but firm.

Clearing her throat to chase away her embarrassment, she lets her crossed arms remain as she regards the man as he moves forward to inspect the drawers. "I had merely assumed you would be a woman," she admits, looking away from him briefly. When she takes her pony tail into her fingers to twist about her limb, she stops almost immediately as Arlo continues to stare at her. It only made the petite Asian woman that much more self-conscious. When the man asks her about what the landlord said, she gives a small shrug of her shoulders, "Just that you worked nights and you were behind on rent, which I paid for you by the way," she says a steely tone entering her lyrics.

"That's it though, I don't like to pry, I assumed the landlord would give me any information that I needed."

Miyako was all too attentive to the constant grin stretching across Arlo's face, it didn't necessarily unnerve her, it mostly annoyed her. He seemed just as surprised as she did about the entire situation, yet he was taking it far more calmly than she was. Sighing, she realizes she ought to get her emotions under control, she did sign a contract to live here for the next 6 months, she was bound to this place as such, unless she wanted to get a lawyer involved. Letting a pause of silence engulf the two of them, she crouches down to begin gathering the glass fragments as Arlo finally introduces himself. Hesitating in her cleaning spree at the use of "Mi", she lets her hand hover just above one of the larger fragments.

Typically, the Asian woman only offered her nickname to those she trusted or those who had a hard time pronouncing the Asian lyrics. Never once had she had someone automatically assume they could call her anything but Miyako. Again, she gives a light shrug of her shoulders, "Call me whatever you want-," she's cut off by the way he offers to help her. Needless to say, Miyako is shocked that he offers in the first place, glancing up to study his face briefly, it takes that moment of distraction for her finger to slip across the sharp edge, bringing a bubble of blood to the surface.

"Ouch," she flinches, staggering to the sink and running her hand under the water as she mumbles her apologies. As she is so distracted by her own blood, she misses the way Arlo moves across the room so quickly, so inhumanly possible, so when she turns, he looks just as sick as she does that weak laugh filling the air. Eyes widening in shock, she quickly ruffles through the upper cabinet producing a bandaid and wrapping it, rather difficulty, around her forefinger. Turning back to Arlo, she folds her hands behind her back, as if she could hide it from him, "I'm so sorry, I didn't realize you hated blood," she apologizes, the color slowly returning to her face.

Eyeing him carefully, he looked about to throw himself through the window. Hesitating, she moves a bit closer to him, resting a hand on his shoulder, "If you need to... stick your head out the window, be my guest," she pats him briefly before taking a small step away. When he turns to her, she takes another step back to give him more space as she raises her now wrapped finger, "No more blood," she says weakly, a small smile toying at the corner of her lip. Dropping her hands to her side, she regards him briefly as he enforces a new rule.

Again, Miyako can't help but laugh lightly, "I agree, though I am going to be a doctor, so if you're bleeding I can take care of that, I just, um, can't deal with my own blood," she smiles embarrassed. "Sorry about that, that was really embarrassing," she flushes lightly. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad living with a man, he wasn't all that bad. He seemed normal, except for that arrogant attitude. "While we are talking about rules, let's add a few more to that list," she says a small smile still playing on her lips, though a serious tone enters her voice,

"I never anticipated living with a boy so I just want to make some things clear. We aren't to go into each other's rooms and as soon as I get this mess cleaned up," she sweeps a hand gesturing to the boxes, "we will try and keep the common areas clean," she pauses for just a moment letting her requests, well demands, sink in adding as an afterthought, "I cook frequently and I don't mind making extra if you help me out with groceries. Also, please don't be late on rent again, I can't afford to live anywhere else and the last thing I need is to find myself homeless while I'm trying to get my doctorates," she finishes off, her arms crossing again across her chest.

So, maybe Miyako could be a little bossy.
