The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He could see Arlo didn't like being compared to a dog but he couldn't think of anything better at the moment. He seemed to consider it for a moment before deciding it made sense. Meanwhile he was drinking the Bourbon like it was going out of style. Damon could only smirk at his wilingness to drink. Maybe he had another drinking buddy with Davante's absence, after all. A soft chuckle left his lips when Arlo said it was good, nodding his head as he took another sip of his own, draining the glass. The waitress immediately came to fill their glasses up again. Damon always liked bottomless refills when he went out. "That, it is." He agreed. Arlo seemed a little surprised at the quickness with which the waitress came back to fill their glasses again and again. Damon already had a running tab so he didn't mind. Besides, a lot of the workers here came to Red on the Water after their shift to slow down and he would return the favor with free rounds. He could tell Arlo had doubts about the idea of covens but he was hoping over time he could help settle those doubts. Arlo just had bad experiences with them in the past. Damon couldn't blame a coven for wanting a threat to their very existence extinguished but at the same time, he couldn't see why a coven wouldn't utilize his skills as a weapon and try to understand him. Simple minded fools. He watched the other vampire's reaction as he flat out told him that he would have killed him simply for being a pest were he any other run of the mill vampire. That seemed to hit Arlo pretty hard but Damon was never one to go lightly and he didn't mind treading on Arlo's feelings to give him the truth. Damon was curious by nature and liked understanding things he didn't know. Arlo was definitely something he didn't understand and so he wanted to rectify that. Otherwise, he wasn't very tolerant of those who would hurt his employees since they were under his protection. Every patron of that tavern was under his protection and harming them wouldn't usually be tolerated. He merely smirked when Arlo called him a jerk and asked if he wanted him to join his coven. He shook his head. "Not right now anyway. Not until you gain more confidence in your own control. If you feel you'll be a threat to others then you will be. Only you can change that." He tilted his head as Arlo mentioned someone with blood he couldn't resist, an Englishman. Damon arched a brow since he knew of a certain vampire with a strong English accent. "You wouldn't have caught his name, would you? I know a Sebastian who speaks with an English accent." He didn't mention that he didn't happen to like Sebastian and really, Arlo could drink from him all he liked if that were the case. As Arlo thought about the man's irresistable blood, Damon glanced around, catching the fact that the tv's were losing signal. Then the lights flickered and the music kicked off. Damon arched a brow, knowing he wasn't doing it. Then the doors slammed shut and the deadbolts clicked shut. Suddenly the lights came back on and the music restarted, Arlo suddenly grinning and talking about how he loved the song. Damon's gaze followed the bouncer being thrown back by the door unlocking before his gaze swept back to Arlo. "Could be but I have a more important question for you. How did you do that? Or rather, did you know you could do that? Because I'm pretty sure you just hijacked the whole club." He smirked, his eyes glittering with amusement. He continued to follow the action around him as the buncer was helped up and the bar apologized over the speaker before turning the music back on for the girls to continue dancing to. Arlo meanwhile went back to talking about covens and how he might bite someone before saying it stressed him that Damon likes killing people and that he would leave the bar alone. He chuckled. "Well, that's a start. As for control, only you can change that. I can help you, if you want." |
