She hadn't meant for this to happen. It had started with just a skinned knee from practice. Her partner had failed to catch her in a lift and Audette had hit the ground - hard. It wasn't exactly an unusual thing. Such accidents happened in ballet, particularly between new partners that were still getting accustomed to each other's bodies. They had tried to patch it up but even beneath the bandage, the scent of her blood had been...too alluring. It was daytime still. The sun was still hanging high in the sky. She should have been safe. She was supposed to be safe. Who ever accounted for a day walking, fledgling vampire?! Audette's sneakers squeaked on the tile of the store as she quickly changed directions, darting down the aisle without paying much attention to what lined the shelves around her. Her head whipped around, her blonde hair bouncing behind her as she checked to see if he was following. She had tried to lose herself in the crowd but he was particularly persistent. Perhaps it had been a bad idea, to get off the streets, but she had hoped the sudden absence of the smell of her blood might throw him off the chase. It hadn't. THe only thing she did have going for herself was that the creature seemingly hadn't quite yet worked out his own otherworldly speed, the man often alternating between a casual almost human run and a burst of supernatural dashing that left him running into walls when she made tight turns or, worse, other people.
What she hadn't expected, however, was the sudden rumble underfoot and the loud crash that echoed behind her. A scream filled the store, along with a clattering of glass hitting the ground. The vampire had seemingly discovered his own strength, the creature taking to toppling whole aisles over in an effort to flush out the fae he hunted. The ballerina met the end of her aisle, only to zigzag into the next set, the customers of the store slowly beginning to realize that something was amiss as they too began to flee the destruction that followed in Audette's wake. She turned quickly down the next aisle, hoping perhaps the bizarre path she'd taken might somehow confuse the vampire trailing after her.
Audette had practically ran into the man before she realized that she knew him, her clove irises somehow brightening at the very site of him.
