South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Wake up to your dreams
And watch them come true

The feeling of having to say goodbye to her children without being able to say it properly, pretending like this was just another lazy vacation, was the hardest thing she had to do out of the whole day. She had managed to keep her emotions hidden for their sake and would do so once more. Although being walked out wasn't necessary, it was still a sweet gesture that her mother had kept up through the years. Nadya was quite sure her mother hadn't meant any ill will by bringing up Mason either. Cynthia nodded in acknowledgement of Nadya's response to touch bases when she returned.

Nadya settled back into the car with a slight knot in her stomach. It wasn't until they were pulling away that she decided to answer Frost's question about her mother's words. She rolled her eyes slightly though there was a slight smile of humor. "Mason is the beta's son, his only son. Four daughters before finally getting a boy. Anyways, father set us up when we were teenagers and we went on a few dates but nothing was ever...happening. Mason finally confided in me that he was gay, no one in his family or the rest of the pack knew, and was trying for his father's sake to make things work for us but...- I didn't think it wasn't fair to him you know? Judging by what my mom said I'm guessing he still hasn't told anyone else. He was there for when the witch brought my memories back of my biological family and encouraged me to find my brother. He was there when I dropped the twins off when I had to live at the Ark and I told him everything. He's a good friend." Nadya shrugged slightly.

Her eyes found the road once more, only glancing back with a raised brow with his warning. "Since when is anything not challenging with you?" It was easy to tease him about his seemingly constant run-in with trouble. She hadn't expected an easy journey anyways. Once parked, Nadya followed his lead in taking her luggage and entering the airport. It had taken some time at first for her to be able to pack so little in the one duffel bag. She had been reassured that they could purchase more clothes on their return country hopping trip. Nadya shifted the bag to her other shoulder as she waited outside the men's restroom for Frost's little parlor trick. She had no idea whose face he was going to come out wearing and although she had been expecting someone else, the foreign touch to her arm caused her to startle slightly. Her eyes took a moment to glance him over and found it overly disconcerting with her eyes telling her one thing and her brain telling her another.

It was a welcome distraction having to go through security. While Frost had to handle his fake passport, hers was real and she had no reason to feel nervous going through the line. It was expected for her hair to get a double take and it only caused Nadya to sigh at the checker, "You and my mother both." She was waved through with little other questioning beyond the basic on where and why she was traveling. Nadya joined where Frost was though stood a good foot apart from him; his new disguise not a body she felt comfortable being near. She eyed the gate board where the departure time was displayed in bright red numbers. "How long will it take to get to the camp once we land?...How will we even get in when we get there?" She had just spent the last few weeks training with Frost in riding and fighting, she was more than capable in those situations...but this was different. Out there in an unknown setting and with adversaries she knew nothing about it was debatable on how it would all go.
