The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With one hundred floors and a 125-foot spire, the Starlight Tower rises high above the Sacrosanct skyline. More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
Even though I seem relaxed as I walk beside Sam, I've always been good about keeping aware of my surroundings. I'm always cautious at night because that's when the blood suckers are out and our blood is like a siren to them. It calls to them and I'm taking no chances. One fairy is bad enough but two fairies with one being a queen is a magnet for any vampire without the discipline to curb its blood lust. I tell her that she's cool and she laughs. I smirk, liking the sound until she tells me that she hates it. My brow lifts at this. "Being surrounded by half naked beautiful girls dancing? Well sign me up then. I'll even tolerate the bitchiness if they do a little private show for me sometimes." I chuckle and wink to show her I'm just kidding. My face goes more serious though, listening as she tells me why she does it. I can't help but smirk and shake my head at her last comment though. "Now, that, I can't believe. Everyone's got rhythm. You just gotta find yours." I follow her out onto the beach, noting just how deserted it is out here. It's nice and peaceful and the slight breeze feels nice. I follow her gaze to the large boat, listening as she tells me that it's the Ark. I nod. "Wow, it's got some size to it, for sure." I run a hand through my hair, looking at her quizzically when she starts to take her shoes off. I smirk, watching her as she turns to ask me about my monarchy. "Well, I used to belong to the Tuatha Monarchy based around Tennessee. It's a long family line there." I laugh when she mentions competition. "You could win someone with just a look and a smile, no problems there." I give her a lazy smirk before I sigh and shrug. "I haven't really belonged to them in a long time. My father took my brother and me away years ago and we slowly separated over time so I've been on my own for a long time." I lean over, slowly taking off my own sneakers and socks before I walk into the shallow waves rolling up on the beach. Standing there for a minute, I smile and look out over the waves before I look back at her and grin, holding out my hand. "Maybe you can do some winning over now. Let me help you find your rhythm." |
