The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She thought it was adorable that he wanted to give her privacy to undress once he figured out what she was doing. If she didn't know any better, she'd think he'd never seen a naked woman before but surely that couldn't be true. He was a shifter and he mentioned having a family who must be shifters too so didn't they shift and run in a pack together? She didn't know of any other way since Frost and her pack wasn't too weird about nudity. Okay, so maybe she wasn't allowed to just run around the house naked all the time but when it came to shifting, everyone seemed to be pretty chill about it. But not Ashton. She was really trying to understand when he explained to her that shifting in front of someone was more intimate to him. It seemed he only wanted to do it with pack or a significant other. She felt a little hurt that he didn't trust her enough but then she felt foolish because they had only just met tonight, even though it already felt like she'd known him forever. She just had to give him more time. She shifted back, only to see him looking up this time, trying to be a gentleman once more. His jaw was so tense. She felt the urge to reach out and touch it just to see how tight it would be but she resisted, instead putting her clothes on. She glanced back over as she pulled on her bra, only to see him staring at her breasts. She smirked, her eyes twinkling at him teasingly but she held her tongue. Next thing she knew, he was looking at the ground again so she finished getting dressed. He seemed to be struggling with everything but she could tell he was definitely affected. She thought only Henry would be that way around her since they'd had sex so why was Ashton acting like that? Frost didn't react like that when she got naked to shift around him. She'd never actually shifted around Tetradore or she'd like to say he probably wouldn't act like that either. Nothing seemed to phase his broodiness. Trying to help him out by changing the subject, she asked if he'd ever been to an arcade. When he said no, her eyes widened. "What?! Then you don't know what you're missing. It's so fun! Follow me." Giving him a bright smile, she started walking back into town, heading to her favorite arcade. She'd only found it a few months ago when she was wandering through Sacrosanct, bored and looking for something to do. At first she hadn't known what to think of all the kids in there whooping and hollering and slamming their hands down on the big boxes. So she watched for a while, walking around and figuring out how the big boxes work. She was addicted once she did figure it out though. The dancing game was her favorite, of course, though the boxing game came close. She asked about the full moon and he said he would shift by himself. She scowled but nodded. "Okay. Well, I hope I run into you some time. Then we can hunt together or something." She smirked. At his sudden question, she turned back to him, her brows furrowed in confusion at first before it clicked that he was talking about his resistance to shift around her. She shook her head. "No, it's fine, really. It means something different to you than it does to me and that's okay. I didn't have anyone to teach me the art of shifting like it was a gift or something. If it wasn't for the rules of my pack house, I'd never wear clothes." She laughed a little and shrugged. "We have different backgrounds and that's okay, Ashton. You're allowed your beliefs." She smirked, her eyes twinkling with sudden mischief. "But don't think I didn't see your eyes wandering, you bad boy, you." Laughing again, she nudged him playfully with her shoulder before she kept walking. Then she pointed. "There it is! And it's open all the time so even late at night when you can't sleep, you can come here." She led him inside and gave him a minute to look around. "There's games with buttons and sticks on them that you move or there's the more fun ones where you actually move around. In the dance game, you actually have to stomp on the right squares when they light up and in the boxing game, you have to put on these weird gloves and act like you're hitting people. So fun!" She grinned, waiting for it all to sink in before she turned to him. "So, anything you want to try first?" |
