East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He heard her before he saw her, though he wouldn't have been able to tell you why.

Animal had been walking in the heart of it all, drifting silently among the throngs of people wandering through downtown in the dark. The lights of the buildings and cars kept everything a glow, warming the faces of passing strangers and lighting every individual in different shades of nightlife. The city lights reflected off his plastic sunglasses as Animal continued to walk, hidden in the plainest of sights as he graced those around him with his silent presence.

A viper among mice.

His hands remained tucked in the front pockets of his leather jacket, fingers curled into loose fists as he followed the mindless stream of human spawn down the busy streets of Sacrosanct. It was odd, though, that through all the ungodly noises of the city he could sense her. Like the fabled Tinkerbell in fairywonderland he could hear the little bell chime in the distance, particles glittering around in animated swirls of pixie dust in the distance with the tinkering of little fairy feet. Perhaps if Animal hadn't been so intrigued by the prospect of another nearby Fae he would have grimaced at what this world had done to idolize their species...but he could feel her. And he wanted her.

A slow, Cheshire-like grin pulled at the corners of his lips, his grey eyes sparkling beneath his shades. Slowly he pulled away from the trailing herd of humans and sunk into the nearest group of shadows, dissipating unnoticed into a wafty cloud of thick, black swirling smoke. Animal drifted seamlessly into the less crowded outskirts of downtown and was somewhat surprised when the park, no less, seemed to be his destination - though once he found her he understood why. There she pranced upon the top of a wall where the moonlight was not so drowned by the city lights and there seemed room to breathe for beautiful fairy antics.

The waft of smoke drifted below, pressed against the side of the wall as he followed. He was unable to look away. Other species held no such appeal to him - but the Fae? They were beautiful, alluring creatures by nature. His movements - her movements - were mouthwatering, and if Animal was ever willing to give one chance to tolerate another being at all... it would certainly be a fairy. Eventually he drifted up the stone wall and curled around her feet. Up her legs. Around her shoulders. Like a serpent made of smoke he wound his way across her body, lingering. Hovering. Admiring. He had no intent of hiding his presence from her.

A faint, silky whisper echo'd around their little bubble upon the wall, the words meant for her and her alone.

Hello...precious.

There was a small part of him that wondered how he would be received in her eyes. His presence would always be a little unnerving, a little dangerous... that would never change. Yet here he was, out in the open and exposed - earnest. At least...

As Animal ever could be.
