The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Samantha Cassidy
It took several minutes for the young woman's breathing to steady enough that she could actually evaluate her situation. For those minutes, her heart was racing so fast she was sure it was going to burst out of her ribcage. Even when she was able to calm herself, she still couldn't stop the trembling in her hands that remained as a visual reminder of the fear that had just plagued her. Truthfully, it wasn't until Samantha was able to pick up on the panther's emotions - it seemed that her own fear had drowned out her power - that she really felt anything but panic. Even then, it was the complete apathy of the feline that intrigued her. He didn't seem to want to harm her, and if he had, he'd had plenty of chances to do so already. Still, there was something unsettling about the way the feline merely watched her. "You frightened me," Samantha said when she was able to recover her voice, and even then it sounded shaky and unsteady. "But you were trying to protect me, weren't you? Whatever that was... and I suppose you probably know exactly what it was... it was trying to kill me."
The absurdity of the situation screamed out to her. There was nothing she could think of that would warrant someone coming after her head. She didn't even act like a faerie if she could help it. Still, it seemed as though the feline was still unwilling to make any attempt to interact with her. Nadya had told her that her brother did nothing if it wasn't his idea first, after all. In fact, she was pretty confident that the statue-like creature in front of her wasn't going to react at all until he'd moved his head to deal with the arrow in his side. Samantha wished she could pull the arrow out herself, but the burn on her palm was enough to keep her back against the brick wall and away from him. He hardly seemed to need her help anyways. The arrow just sizzled away at the touch of his saliva. "How did you..." The girl began, though she dropped off when it was clear she wouldn't get the answer she desired.
Regardless of the feline in front of her, it was clear to Samantha that she needed to tend to her wounds. She'd never handled pain well. As a human, she'd flinched away from needles and had been the type to throw up at the sight of blood. It turned out that immortality had not taken that away. Now that the fear had subsided, the torn skin on her arm made her head ache and her knees feel wobbly. "I don't suppose you know how to clean an iron injury do you?" She mumbled, careful to not look at the blood soaking her arm. If she looked at it, she was sure she'd be unable to keep herself up. She shook her head, picking herself up off the wall. "Come on then, the least you can do is walk me home after scaring me like that."
The faerie didn't wait to notice if the panther was following her as she moved around him and started down the sidewalk towards the apartment she rented. It was only a few blocks away from the burlesque after all. Still, every step was agonizing to the young woman with the exceptionally low pain tolerance. She was rounding the corner to her apartment building when she finally looked back, curious to see if the feline was behind her or not. Truthfully, she wasn't sure if he would have bothered.
