Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Samantha Cassidy
The Fae Queen was entirely aware of the anxieties that had poured from her companion in the days prior to this evening. Perhaps she should have relented when he took her invitation as a joke, and yet the girl couldn't help but insist that the vampiric man that her roommate had fallen in love with come over for dinner. After all, Samantha felt she owed him some kind of kindness. There was something so different about Dorian now that he had Sebastian. He smiled and seemed to brighten a room when he entered it. And, of course, the girl was eternally thankful that the vampire had taken it upon himself to help ease Dorian back into the modern world. Though, she had groaned just a little when Dorian had asked for help setting up the 'Letter Sender'. Still, she couldn't deny that it made her happy to see Dorian glowing as he was, and it was that alone that had set the girl in motion to invite the vampire over for dinner. She had hardly anticipated it would be such an overwhelming experience for him. She was sure she wouldn't feel the same kind of pressure if it were Aiden coming over for dinner. No, she'd just worry about Dorian calling the Were King a peasant.
She was hardly annoyed by Dorian's prodding. No, she'd expected it. He had a habit of attempting to micromanage part of her life when he suspected that her queen status should have afforded a different protocol. When it came to this evening, she had been fully prepared to listen to him attempt to take control of what she wore, how she acted, and what was on the menu. However, the sight of him pilfering through her things was enough to set her on edge, and it was that alone to drive him from the room. "I'm not failing at this task," She muttered, turning to look in the full length mirror at the outfit she had on. No, yoga pants would not suffice as appropriate attire for the evening, and yet the evening was not quite here. The realization that she had no idea how to dress for this dinner party was enough to set her on edge, and by the time that she wandered down to the kitchen, she was irritable at best. He had, of course, offered her no assistance in the kitchen, instead having made a comment earlier about how he had always had staff to cook for him. There would be no staff here. Nothing but Samantha who, with the appearance of his anxiety, had made it nothing short of her mission to make sure that the dinner went as elegantly as possible.
The queen would admit that she loved the flash of shock on his features as he took in her outfit. It seemed his worry was tugging at the empath's patience, and anything to get under his skin even momentarily made her chuckle. "Dorian, will you like, chill for one minute? I'm not going to wear this. There are three perfectly pretty dresses laying on my bed for you to choose from, and I promise that before your vampire shows up I will be within one of those outfits with my hair done and my makeup on and the brightest smile you can ever imagine on my lips. But until then, will you please relax? Your anxiety is giving me a headache." It was perhaps the first she'd mentioned of her power at all to the man, and yet she seemed too bothered with her duties in the kitchen to really elaborate.
Still, she couldn't deny the pleasure that came from the look of shock on her features as the rather crude joke escaped her lips. It had been a joke, though it took the ancient man several moments to take in her words. "Dorian, I'm kidding." The way the man squirmed made her own smile fall, her gaze focused on him as she set to putting the chicken within the oven. "I've never seen you like this." She paused in her efforts as she watched him run his hands through his hair in a way that made him look so disheveled in a way that she'd never seen Dorian be. She paused entirely as she listened to the man, her lips forming a smile as he spoke to her. "Dori..." She moved to step around the counter, going to stand in front of him. She reached out, putting her hands on his arms in an effort to draw from him some semblance of calm.
"Boyfriend," The faerie girl said with a chuckle, giving his arms a squeeze. "The word you're looking for his boyfriend. Sebastian is your boyfriend, and you are his. And Dori, I figured as much already. One doesn't spend that much time with someone without there being.... More than just friends." She leaned in, wrapping her arms around his middle in a gentle hug, careful not to muss his shirt too terribly much. "Dori, this evening is important to me too. You're important to me. I wouldn't do anything to ruin this for you, I promise." She stepped back, going back over to the pan of chicken to place it within the oven. "I will dress like I'm supposed to and will be nothing but sweet to him. I promise. But I need you to calm down, Dorian. Or I will make you calm down." The girl glanced up at him as she closed the oven, fully willing to threaten him with the use of her power if necessary to keep him from giving himself a stroke.
