I know some things should just stay broken
i'm well aware this should remain unspoken
Sterling's chest rapidly rose and fell as that panic gripped the blue-eyed boy's heart. The darkness that had suddenly descended upon the alleyway had begun to dissipate, leaving Sterling with a full view of his savior. The very sight of that ebony cat, however, hardly instilled the relief it should have within the warlock. After all, he had been on the receiving end of those sharpened claws. He knew the feral instincts that could override a were's mind. He froze into place, watching with wide eyed silence as the cat turned to face them - the feline seemed...almost...surprised to see him. Those bright blue eyes were ones Sterling recognized well and softly his boyfriend's name fell from his lips in blatant shock. Those tears followed soon afterwards, tracing trails down his cheeks as Sterling simply sobbed at the very sight of the man who had once mauled him so viciously. He was hardly prepared to defend himself against his ex anymore then he was against the Hunters who had cornered him in the first place. The last thing Sterling anticipated, however, was the soft, reverberating sound of a purr.
Though there was a distinct level of...gentleness about the sound, it hardly was enough to stop the tears that fell down his cheeks in all too audible sobs. He held Fiducia close to his chest though Sterling hardly dared to take his eyes off of the ebony cat in front of him. After all, with his back against the wall, there were distinctly few places the Warlock could run. Not this time. For several breathless moments, it seemed like the pair simply stared at one another before the ebony fur on Henry's physique began to ripple. The shift from cat to man hardly took long and soon Sterling was left staring at the naked form of his ex-boyfriend crouched upon the ground. The soft sound of Henry's voice was hardly ignored, though Sterling could do little else than nod in acknowledgement of it as he watched his ex. Henry seemed to glance over the wounds that littered his figure - only for them to disappear in front of Sterling's gaze. He had seen that healing power at work before but...he still found it astounding each and every time.
His sobs had quieted ever so slightly into more hyperventilating breaths, even as Sterling looked up at his approaching ex. His head shook ever so slightly as he glanced down to the bird nestled protectively against his chest. "Fid..." The syllable left his shakily lips as he held up his familiar for Henry to see - the arrow shaft still protruding from her chest. It was Henry's careful prompting that they should go home that caused Sterling to nod and slowly, using the wall behind him as support, he pushed himself upwards to stand, his gaze still largely focused upon the bird in his arms. Thankfully his building was just the next one over, the walk would hardly be long and yet Henry's current state of undress was the very last thing on his mind.
Sterling
I'm on the ledge while you're so
