Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Samantha was hardly willing to take no for an answer when it came to getting Nadya to safety. She'd had no experience with animal control when it came to Weres, but she was sure that it wouldn't be good. Nadya's emotions bounced around, the girl finding it was hard to latch onto a solid emotion. Almost as though the woman was far more animal than human at the moment. Samantha was sure that leaving the woman in the hands of animal control would not be a choice, and she wasted no time in pressing her hand to Nadya to guide her to the car. She was glad that Nadya offered no resistance, and even more glad when the panther seemed to stay still as the shaky faerie climbed into the driver's seat. It had been too long since she'd drove â€" before her change â€" and the fancy car was certainly worth more than she herself was. Luckily, it certainly wasn't far to her apartment, and before she knew it they were parked in front of her home.
She felt Nadya's disgust at the room in which Samantha called home, the young girl shifting awkwardly as she turned to lock the door behind them. Dropping the shopping bags by the door, she turned to examine the apartment. It wasn't much â€" it really wasn't â€" but it was the most that Samantha could afford and it was quite favorable to sleeping in the park. At least here she had running water and heat. Even if she was immortal and wouldn't freeze to death, she hardly enjoyed the feeling. The young faerie kept herself in the doorway, watching the panther investigate around the apartment. She was hardly surprised that the first thing the feline felt interest in was the boxes that held the small amount of clothing that the young faerie owned. The young girl winced as a sharp claw sliced through one of her shirts, though she hardly knew just how bad it could be until the feline darted across the apartment much like a housecat.
"Nadya," Samantha gasped, watching in horror as the feline leapt onto the table. Samantha still remembered the day that she'd purchased that stupid table. She'd been shopping at Goodwill for her apartment and had somehow had enough money for the tiny wooden table that didn't have chairs with it. It had a billion scratches across the top of it â€" scratches the faerie tried to cover with frilly tablecloths that were also dollar store finds. Still, she'd grown fond of her purchase. It hurt her like a physical punch in the gut to watch it crumble beneath the panther's weight. Samantha let out an audible whimper at the sound, watching the panther come scrambling towards the young faerie. Wincing from the ache in her stomach that the splintered table caused, Samantha sat down on the floor. She wrapped her arms around Nadya's feline form, drawing her in closer to the faerie girl. "Hey, I'm here." She stroked the feline's pelt. "And I know that my apartment isn't exactly impressive, but it's all I've got honey. I need you to not destroy it please."
Samantha stood up slowly, her hand nudging Nadya towards the bed. "Come on. We'll lay down for a bit. It doesn't look like much, but if you lay off the center of it, it's actually pretty comfortable." She went over to the futon, kicking her shoes off and crawling on. She patted the space beside her, making room for the feline. "Please, Naddy? Just come lay down. You'll feel better... and you can shift back, maybe? And then we'll play fashion show? I know you want me to play all the cute clothes you bought me."
