Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
There were many conveniences of modern life that Sebastian had entirely forgotten his companion's ignorance of. The vampire himself had seen these developments tumble from the ether, he had seen inventions rise and fall only to be forgotten to the sands of time. He remembered the first vehicle seen upon the streets of London and too when the vehicle companies officially classified the streets as for cars only. He remembered the news of the Wright brothers and Amelia Earhart's great journey into oblivion. He remembered the Titanic and the first bullet train. They were all entirely modern affairs and yet, they had been apart of his life for long enough that Sebastian had become entirely accustomed to their presence. He had forgotten how utterly alone his companion had been for nearly as infinitely long as he had. Sebastian hadn't considered that it was perhaps his travel time that might bring so many questions to the forefront of his companion's mind, rather, for the few moments after such a line of questioning his own thoughts were entirely focused upon himself and what little he had unveiled of his own creation. Closure was, perhaps, the most difficult of things to obtain and yet, until this point, Sebastian had found a sort of comfort in his existence - up until the moment she had once again waltzed into his world.
It was the sound of Dorian's entirely gentle and yet, altogether probing inquiry that drew the vampire from his entirely self-absorbed thoughts. His mindset was still back there - upon the streets of Austria hoping that someone wouldn't catch his maker's attention or that perhaps this person would be the one to shed some light on whatever atrocity had occurred to that ruined castle he had stumbled upon. In a way, it felt peculiar to be home and yet, the vampire wanted little more then to draw Dorian into his side, to smell the man's entirely unique scent and remind himself that he was, indeed, finally home where he belonged. Despite those lingering desires, however, Sebastian entirely kept his hands to himself, instead reaching up to run his fingers through his hair with but a soft sigh on his lips. How did he explain Austria? Did he continue to evade it or would it only further arouse the suspicion of his lover when this was, perhaps, an entirely different kind of matter. It took Sebastian a moment to come up with the proper sort of response, keeping the woes that had kept him so engaged entirely brief as they stepped out into the night's air. "Of sorts. I...." His voice trailed off, the vampire sighing softly before offering even a shred of the truth, "My maker finally discovered my existence after all this time. I went to Austria with her to look for answers."
He was at the very least, willing to offer some insight into his trip and yet, there was perhaps a feeling of relief at the sight of the vehicle waiting for them upon the curb of the road. Sebastian hardly considered his companion's experience with the machinery, the man hardly even considering it if it were not for the clear glimpse of anxiety upon the fae King's face at the simple sight of it.He was aware of that sudden pulsing of the man's heart, pounding in his chest at even the notion of the car. A frown momentarily marred his features as his gaze shifted towards the car. "Oh." The word fell simply from his lips as his eyebrows furrowed, his crystalline gaze turning back towards his companion, "I am sorry, Dorian, I didn't think --" His voice trailed off as the fae King stepped near the car, apparently deciding that, perhaps, this experience might be worth all that Sebastian had in store. A small simper tugged at the vampire's features as he slid into the car beside his companion, shutting the door behind him. He noticed his servant glancing at them in his rearview mirror to ensure they were within the car before it slowly, and smoothly began to slide forward.
The sound of his own name upon Dorian's lips pulled the Englishman's gaze back towards the fae, his attention wholly upon his companion as it so often was within Dorian's presence. His eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly at the frown that marred his companion's face and softly he inquired, "What is it?" It wasn't hard for Sebastian to pick up on the discontent that so invaded his lover, after all Dorian was so often the epitome of warm simpers, nearly entirely avoiding the more serious conversations that so seemed to invade them tonight. His inquiry caused Sebastian's head to tilt to the side, the man entirely surprised that his disappearance still so seemed to afflict the King beside him. Although he could not deny he had missed the man, and though he too enjoyed hearing those words too in return, Sebastian had perhaps not entirely realized the extent of that which had so plagued Dorian himself. "No, Austria holds nothing for me anymore. I do need to return to England some point in the near future though." He watched in silence the way his companion so seemed to regard this information, struggling to truly discover the thoughts that so crossed Dorian's mind.
He had hardly expected for this admittance to fall from the lips of his companion, those words alone surely holding more affection within them then perhaps the man ever had even hinted for before. "Perhaps next time you can come with me then." He uttered softly in response, the vampire leaning gingerly over towards his companion, his lips pressing softly against the corner of Dorian's lips. "I think, I enjoy yours more than I should." He admitted softly, hinting perhaps to those feelings he was altogether hesitant to even consider voicing. Sebastian's pulled away ever so slightly, his attention slowly turning to the floor to pluck one of the three small boxes from their place on the floor boards. "I had intended to give you these once we got to our destination but, I think, perhaps, you might appreciate this one now." He handed the small wrapped box to his companion, all too aware he would have to explain the expensive, high tech cell phone within and yet, perhaps this might help to ease those concerns that so plagued his lover.
