East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She should have heard the shower. She should have heard the door to the other bedroom open. She should have noticed the boy walking across the room. It was only when the sound of a thunk caught her attention did Miyako raise her eyes to find a decidedly handsome boy standing in the middle of her living room. Eyes widening abruptly, her lips part slightly in shock as he simply just sits down so casually, reclining along the sofa. Who in the world was this man and why was he in her apartment? When he smiles at her, it doesn't register in her mind, she simply stares at him, her lips parted in astonishment, shock clearly written across her soft features.

When he speaks, it breaks whatever held her captive and she flinches so forcefully she drops the glass from her hand as it shatters on the ground, the water splashing at her jean clothed legs. Completely ignoring the glass shards, she takes a step away from him as he approaches to look in the drawer next to her. Finally, she regains her composure little by little, "You're the other tenant that lives here?" she snaps at him, folding her arms over her chest, her chocolate eyes narrowing at him in almost annoyance. "The landlord didn't tell me you were a-a boy," she sputters out, her cheeks flushing just slightly, a pink tint coloring her face.

She completely ignores his comments on her being busy, she simply couldn't wrap her mind around the situation she had currently found herself in. "I feel that, that would be important information to tell the girl who's moving into an apartment, don't you think?" she asks rhetorically, one hand running up to snag her ponytail, twisting it about her fingers, a nervous habit she picked up some years ago. Looking away from him momentarily to take in the glass that speckles the floor, she sighs inwardly, she would have to clean it up soon though she dearly wanted answers first.

The comment is not lost on her that he doesn't use the kitchen, perhaps he worked in a restaurant and his meals were given to him for free. When this whole fiasco was over, maybe she would ask him if he could swing her a job. Shoving the thoughts roughly from her mind, she crosses her arms over her chest shooting him another glowering look. "I didn't say what my name was; I'm trying to figure out why you're here," she frowns at him but Miyako can't help but offer pleasantries all the same, "It's more respectable if you offer your name before you ask another's," she scolds lightly, but nevertheless she pauses only momentarily, "Miyako," she says curtly regarding him openly.

"I had assumed you were not here, if I would have known you were hiding out in your bedroom I would have introduced myself earlier, rather than have this... awkward conversation," she flushes again, looking away from him to the shattered glass, "I'm sorry I broke your water glass," she apologizes quickly, before kneeling and gathering the shards. Feeling a stinging sensation, she flinches, dropping the shards again, she inspects her finger as the blood domes to the surface. Instantly, Miyako feels woozy, the room begins to spin as she launches herself to a standing position, staggering across the kitchen to the sink as she turns the water on, letting it wash off the tiny amount of blood.

"For god's sake, I'm going to school to become a doctor," she mumbles, closing her eyes tightly to help with the sudden vertigo that plagues her. Swallowing, her mouth dry she tries to ignore the man behind her, immensely embarrassed he had to witness this on their first meeting. "I, uh, don't mind other people's blood, I just can't stand the sight of my own. Pathetic, right?" she laughs weakly.
