The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
She smiles and I can sense that I've done some good for her already. It seems that so few really respect her title for what it is so much that she grows an extra foot power wise just by being told that yes, she is queen, and yes, that is important. I search her face as she continues, telling me about someone called Ivy and how she tried to save her. I feel bad for the girl and I don't even know her and better yet, I feel bad that Sam had to go through such a change in any negative way. I remember when it was more a ritual than anything, something to feel honor about, a human being chosen to be a fairy. They considered it a great honor and would offer sacrifices of lambs and such to the king and queen of the monarchy. Then they would decide if the human was worthy of their race. I've attended a few of the ceremonies myself and they were quite beautiful to behold. To think that some of our race has twisted the tradition and makes it a punishment for humans, something forced upon them, is a horrible thing. I scowl as I think about it, wishing I could have been there to do something. My brows furrow in distaste when she continues to tell me how they tortured her then slit her throat. She woke up alone, no maker, no leader, no one to teach her what she is. I run a hand through my hair and breathe out in frustration. I hate that it was that way for her. She tells me how she found her way here and how she hated it at first but that she learned more about how to be a powerful fairy. I nod and offer a soft smile. I chuckle a little. "Good to know. I'll be sure to watch my P's and Q's then." She says that she's glad I like it here and that she does. She seems almost oblivious to my attempts at flirtation but I don't mind. I'm a very patient man and also very persistent when I set my mind to it. I'm well aware that a pretty thing like her must be taken but until she tells me otherwise, I can't stop myself from trying. Not to say that the knowledge will make me stop either. "I'm sure it'll grow on me." I agree with a grin. As she stands and tells me to come on, I raise a brow at her, watching her stand. Her soft hand closes around my arm to pull me up and I do so without much nudging, already intrigued as to what she plans on doing. She tells me that I need a guide and that she's the welcoming committee. "Well then sign me up." I say with a playful wink. She offers to take me on a walk and I nod. "Sure, why not? I can't complain about the company." Running a hand through my hair again, I take one last glance toward the stage and the new girl getting up there to dance before I follow right on her heels, even making sure I reach the door first to hold it open for her like a true gentleman. "After you, my queen." I giver her my most charming grin before walking at her side, matching her stride easily as I put my hands in my pockets. I've always been quite good about blending in. I square my shoulders and slouch a little like a human, making myself seem unassuming and non approachable. It makes me almost invisible. "So Sam...what do you do for fun around here? Got any secret hangouts?" |
