Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Samantha hardly paid attention to the way that the patrons of the shop nor the clerk reacted to the way Nadya burst into her Were form. She was more concerned with getting to the woman, and it was with that in mind that she rushed out of the store with their things towards the feline. She was surprised to see the cat pacing around, acting rather like the ferocious cat that she was rather than the tame woman that Samantha had come to love. She'd been used to Aiden in his own Were form, which seemed as tame as he was in his human one. But still, it was the way that the nearby patrons reacted that caused Samantha to lurch forward to the girl, dropping their bags and falling to her knees in front of the feline. Miss, you really should wait until the authorities get hereâ€". A nearby woman said, attempting to grab at Sam's shoulder to pull her back. "Leave me alone." Samantha snapped, moving to stroke the feline's pelt.
"Nadya, it's okay," Her voice remained soothing, moving to stroke the feline's head. She didn't wince or show any fear as Nadya's eyes landed on her in agitation. It was still Nadya. It was still her friend. She wouldn't hurt her. Even though she felt the anger and hostility that Nadya felt towards being touched, Samantha didn't fear for a moment that she was in danger. And immediately, Nadya seemed to settle and be soothed by her presence. Samantha kept petting the panther as she nuzzled into the faerie. "You're okay," She said soothingly, her arms wrapping around the animal in a gentle hug. She held onto the panther, relaxing as the feline's purr reverberated in her body.
Samantha hardly noticed as the security approached them, only reacting at the sudden shift in Nadya's emotions. She let go of Nadya enough that she could look up, her gaze skeptical on the uniformed men that approached them. "Yes," Samantha said firmly, her arm falling around the panther protectively. "She's not out of control, and we have no problem. She's mine, and we're going home." Samantha grabbed the keys out of Nadya's purse, standing up as she grabbed their bags. "Naddy, come." She'd apologize later for treating Nadya like a pet, but drawing as little attention to the situation as possible.
Samantha put one hand on Nadya's side, using that to guide the feline into the parking lot. She could feel the gaze of the crowd on her. The agitation that the feline would be free to go. Sure, Supernaturals were known about in the city, but that didn't mean that there wouldn't be trouble when one shifted in the middle of a public place. She was sure Nadya would get them out of this if she had to, but the less attention they could draw to themselves would likely be the best way out of here. She moved quickly, throwing their bags in the trunk of the car before she opened the passenger door. "Can you get in? We... we really need to get out of here, Naddy. We'll get home, and then we can relax."
She hardly waited for the panther to get in the car before she was shutting the door, quickly going to the other side of the car. Ignoring the protests of the security officer that they let animal control deal with the problem, she slid in and started the car with ease. "It's been awhile since I've drove," She said to the animal in warning before she shifted the car in reverse, heading towards her apartment. Every few seconds the faerie girl would shift her gaze to make sure the panther was content as she drove, finally managing to park in a spot near her apartment.
Getting the bags out of the car and letting the feline out, she motioned for her to follow her inside the apartment building. "If you think my clothes are pitiful, you're really going to hate this." She said before she led her into the tiny studio apartment she lived in. The hardwood floor was dusty, the only furniture being an old futon couch she used as a bed â€" covered with one pillow and a ratty quilt â€" and the kitchen table with two mismatched chairs. In the corner sat a few boxes with clothes piled in them â€" Samantha's idea of a dresser these days. It wasn't much â€" she'd been rather embarrassed to take Aiden here, and the same embarrassment radiated in her now with Nadya â€" but it was all she could afford.
