East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Samantha may have been notoriously kind, but she was not naive by any means.

The faerie queen was so easily underestimated. How many people had disregarded her as nothing to worry about simply because of her kind eyes and friendly smile? But she had rallied followers for a reason. And it wasn't because she was incapable. So when Frost had warned her that the faeries that changed her had been lurking in the city for her, the woman had been forced to amp up the skepticism that she regarded the world with. She knew the burlesque was often crawling with supernaturals - plenty of them fae - and as such, she frequently made sure to watch the patrons that frequented the bar. She knew most of them. Was even on friendly terms with a good portion of them. So when there was a new face - especially a fae one - she couldn't help but be curious.

The queen had to check the roll of her eyes as she watched him smirk at her - especially seeing that he had done a once over of her body in the process. It wasn't uncommon, she supposed, for the men of the establishment to check out the ladies. Even though Samantha wore clothes befitting of her manager role, even she wasn't immune to the eyes of the male patrons. Still, her smile was warm as she sat down. She could feel his apprehension towards her, and immediately she shook her head. "It's just me. I just wanted to say hi." It was half truth, she supposed. She did want to say hi, but also to see if he had any desire to harm her. She could never be too careful.

It was with nothing but kindness that she extended her hand, and she was relieved that he didn't comment on her nervous - if not paranoid - demeanor. She was even more relieved when he returned the handshake, introducing himself as well. Troy. She nodded, filing the name into her memory as she listened to why he had stopped by the burlesque. There was sincerity in his words, his emotions holding steady on curiosity and - somewhat - kindness. No, he wasn't here for her. It was silly paranoia that he might be.

"Well, welcome to Sacrosanct, Troy," Samantha replied easily, her smile wide as she let her eyes drift towards the girls on the stage, checking on them before she cast her attention back towards the man that sat beside her. "I um. I also needed to be the welcoming committee, I suppose. I'm the Queen of the local monarchy." She spoke with nothing but the confidence that her position allowed - even if she was nervous. After all, how many people had laughed when she'd announced her title in the past? Too many to count. There was no telling that he wouldn't laugh, too, at the demure faerie queen who had clearly no idea how to be intimidating.

The faerie girl leaned back in her seat as she regarded him, watching the way he moved and letting her eyes even briefly flash towards the gun in his back pocket. It was that he was fae alone that led her to believe that there was no iron within the weapon - a naive thought, perhaps. A gunshot wound would hurt, sure, but unless there was iron, she was assured that it wouldn't be fatal.

"What brought you to town?" She asked simply, reaching up to twirl a piece of her blonde hair around her finger as she watched him. It was such a girlish gesture. Such a human one, and yet Samantha was finding that her human habits were impossible to break.
