The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With one hundred floors and a 125-foot spire, the Starlight Tower rises high above the Sacrosanct skyline. More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
Ashton was a little disheartened that she would not even try to explain her view. Clearly they had differencing view points. Where she saw weakness, he saw survival. The wall was there to be used. It would not make her any less superior than he or the guy skating by them. No one cared if you had to use the wall. It wasn't like there was a running tally of who used the wall so that person could be made fun of.
However, he allowed her space, knowing that she was wanting to tackle this skill on her own. It hurt that she didn't want to use him to help her. He saw pride. If she was worried about appearing weak and inferior, he felt pride was a weakness far greater than using the wall to learn a new skill only just introduced. "I can only understand your thoughts if you explain them to me." He wanted to say something like "I graduated school, I am capable of understanding simple explanations" but he had a feeling that wouldn't be taken too kindly. And so, he simply let her know that he wanted to understand her viewpoint...he just needed her to explain herself.
However, despite her reluctance for help, he still stayed close to her. He remembered the first time he ever tried to roller skate and he remembered how much it hurt when he fell the first time. She may not want help, but he would give it to her anyway when she needed it. It didn't take long before she was falling and he swooped in to help her. The feeling of her body against his felt nice. It had been a long time since a woman had been this close to him. It light a fire he didn't know needed lighting.
He thought his words were comforting, to show her that he was still here. But instead, they were met with narrowed set eyes and her pushing him away. She once again said that she had it handled. From his stand point, nothing about what just happened was "handled". She would have hit her face against the wood floor had he not been there to catch her when she fell. But she did not want his help and he was beginning to see that. This time, he stepped back farther. This time, he was not close enough to catch her fall. If she did not want his help, he would not give it to her, no matter how much the idea hurt him deep in his soul.
While she was busy skating (or trying to convince herself that she could skate), he slipped off the rink to rest on a bench as his eyes watched her. He did not want to leave her on the rink alone, but she needed to conquer this skill on her own. Her words still stung, but he put on a smile anyway. He would not let her know that his sweet little demeanor could be easily bruised.
