The smile lighting up his face as she ran toward him was well worth the wait for that letter. He chuckled at her question, letting her know that she wasn't late and she grinned. "Good. Cause I usually suck at telling time." She didn't mind admitting it. He pulled away from the wall and grabbed a bag and his board. She could smell food in the bag and her mouth salivated in appreciation but she was sure he'd want to get some surf lessons done before they eat, which she was totally okay with...well, somewhat. Okay, so she was always hungry, it seemed, but for him, she could hold out, for a little while anyway. She glanced at the board in curiosity. It looked heavy. How did it let someone stay on top of the water? She just didn't get it. He asked if she was ready and she couldn't help but snort and roll her eyes. "Psh, I was born ready." It seemed like a good enough response. It seemed cool when they did it on tv anyway. He paused at an umbrella and she watched as he set the bag down and put the board upright. Her eyes widened as it just stuck up in the sand. Is that what you were supposed to do with it? He made it look cool, anyway. But then he ruined the moment by asking if she could swim. She turned her gaze back to him, trying not let the sudden nerves she felt show. She bit her bottom lip before tilting her head in a shrug. "So....yes and no. I can swim pretty good in my coyote form. Just haven't really tried it in my human form. But I can still doggy paddle, right?" She knew that was what it was called in the human world but to her, it was still considered swimming. When he kicked off his flip flops, she copied him, figuring that must mean you don't wear your shoes into the water which suited her just fine. When he pulled the shirt over his head, she had to swallow and look away for a minute. Damn, it was hot out here all of a sudden. This was her first time seeing him without a shirt on and really, after their talk that night when she shifted in front of him, she hadn't really planned on seeing it any time soon so it took her by surprise. Plus, she knew what it was to be intimate with someone now and it had been far too long since Henry and her had slept together. Her body was having withdrawals in the worst way and now she might have to keep herself from drooling. Just great. Not what Ashton needed. Clearing her throat, she looked back at him as he asked if she was ready. Finally she bit her bottom lip and nodded. "As ready as I'm gonna be." She waited till he turned away or went to get his board before slipping off her own top and stepping out of her shorts. She figured she needed to be in a bathing suit only to do this right and she didn't want to just do it in front of him after he'd been so awkward about it last time. Surely he'd be okay as long as she stayed in a bathing suit, right? |
