East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Being the manager of The Cat's Meow - even though her time here was surely limited, seeing as Nadya would likely be coming back at any time - was something that the faerie girl took incredibly seriously. Even though the business wasn't hers by any means, she had developed a sense of pride at the idea of being in charge of the place. It helped her immensely to help gain the trust of the fae girls that littered the establishment, and seeing that she was the new faerie queen of the city, she needed their loyalty. When she had started at the burlesque, she knew so very little about the fae, even if she was one of them now. From the moment the faerie girl had slit her throat and she woke up in her new body, she'd been lost by the idea of it all. But now, only a little over a year after working here, and she was powerful enough to be queen.

The evening had started off normally, at least until one of the girls bumped into a tray of drinks and effectively ruined her costume. It had taken a lot of effort to convince the girl to wear the outfit that Samantha herself had designed. She'd insisted it wasn't an approved costume, and Samantha had merely pulled out the manager card to force her into it. From there, it had seemed like everything had gotten out of hand. The routines were off schedule, the bartender had called in sick and she'd had to throw a waiter behind the bar to merely hope for the best. So instead of going up to her office to do the mounds of paperwork that she had on her desk, she was forced to stay on the floor to make sure everything went smoothly.

And it had, up until the moment a certain young man stepped into the establishment. Samantha wasn't the first one to notice him, certainly not. After all, she didn't make a habit of staring at the boys that frequented the establishment. She had a boyfriend, and making eye contact with the patrons was a quick way to get more attention than you bargained for. Instead, she only noticed him when one of the girls she was closest to grabbed her arm and spun her to look at him with a gushed 'isn't he cute?!'. And she supposed he was. Not quite her type, but cute.

Or at least, she thought so until she looked at him further. Her senses were certainly tingling at the man, but it wasn't until she saw the pointed ears that she knew for sure. Faerie. And one that wasn't known well around here. And perhaps it was none of her business - it wasn't like fae didn't come in here all the time - but the recent warnings from Frost to watch her back when it came to strange faeries had her suspicious of the leather jacket wearing man that came into the bar.

"What did he order?" Samantha commented as she walked up to the bar, watching the flustered bartender stammer to remember. "It's okay, just pour me another one please." She said kindly before she took the poured drink and went up over to the booth in the front. She moved swiftly, sitting down beside the man as she slid the offered drink to him. "On the house," She said kindly, offering him a smile. "You're a new face around here. We get used to most of our patrons. Or at least, I do. I'm the manager." She held a hand out, smiling even though her hand was shaking with nervousness. "Samantha Cassidy. What made you stop by tonight?"
