The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Ashton didn't find those using the wall to be weak or inferior. They too, were learning how to navigate skates. There was no shame in using something to help balance. It was no different than her using his arms to keep herself upright. He would much rather her use the wall than face plant because her pride got in the way. However, he was not the type of guy to order her to use the wall. She would have to learn her own lessons and he would simply have to be there for her should she fall. "It's not weakness to use the wall." He spoke softly, trying not to offend her, but he still wanted her to know that he wouldn't think any less of her if she did choose to use something to help her balance. This was, after all, her very first time skating. No one expected her to be a pro on day one.
He made sure that he skating just ahead of her, close enough to reach for her should she start to falter, but far enough away to give her space. She seems intimidated by the ease at which he skated. Perhaps this wasn't a good thing to show her. Perhaps they should have just stayed at the dance club. But he said nothing, simply stayed close as she slowly began to make her way onto the skating rink floor.
However, the moment she began to panic, he could sense it deep into his core. Before she even began to tumble to the floor, he was already skating towards her, closing the distance between them. And when she began to fall forward, he was right there to catch her, as he promised he would be. She fell into his outstretched arms and he pulled her close to his chest. Her body colliding with his broad, muscled chest, his arms wrapping around her help steady her. Slowly, he helped her to regain her balance. Eyes rested on hers when she was finally upright again. "Are you alright?" He waited a moment until he could be sure that she was alright before he grinned, almost saucily. "Now will you put your pride aside and use the wall?" It was said with a lighthearted tone, his grin almost implying "I told you so" although he would never voice such a thought outloud.
