It was a good thing she had Nadya to fall back on when it came to fashion emergencies. She wasn't even thinking about the fact that she had no bathing suits for this surf lesson from Ashton and she couldn't very well just wear regular clothes into the ocean. That sounded even more uncomfortable than just wearing them dry. Luckily, she went to Nadya, who set to work on taking her shopping. Malia still loathed shopping for clothes, mostly cause you weren't supposed to leave with them until you'd paid. Nadya showed him some bathing suits, both one piece and bikini and of course, she found that the less clothing she had on, the more comfortable she was. Except for those things they called a thong. Why would someone want a string up their butt? She didn't get it so she shook her head vehemently at that. Instead, Nadya ended up buying her three very nice bikini's: one sky blue with hawaiian flowers on it, another fire red, and the third was lime green. Malia ended up putting on the red bikini for her surfing lesson, taking one last look in the mirror before she threw a tshirt over her top and slipped into some board shorts that Nadya bought her too. Then she headed out to the beach. She had had Nadya read the letter to her since she didn't know how to read. It had hit her after saying good bye to Ashton that night that he didn't know of a way to contact her besides her address. She didn't have a phone, not like she'd know how to use it even if she did, and not like she could read something sent to her on it anyway. So instead she was pleasantly surprised when she was told she had mail. Her eyes practically glowed as Nadya told her what the letter said and she'd been giddy since that day. She couldn't wait to hang out with Ashton again. Slipping into some flip flops, cause she decided wearing minimal shoes was better than the other types of shoes they tried to make her wear, she made it to the beach in record time, mostly cause she was running. She just didn't like to walk very much, not when she could run just as easily. It didn't take her long to see Ashton's lean figure leaned against a wall with a large board beside him. She grinned and headed toward him. "Hey, stranger. Nice letter writing skills. I'm not late, am I?" She glanced around, as if expecting to see a clock hanging up somewhere. She was always told she didn't have very good punctual skills, since she didn't wear a watch or even know how to tell time. Usually she just asked the first stranger she met what time it was any time she wanted to know. |
