East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She smirked as he pointed out where she lived and who she lived with, agreeing that she had to have some badness in her. She hadn't thought of it that way cause she didn't see the bad in any of her pack members. Tetradore she only saw as doing what he needed to do to keep his family safe and taken care of. It wasn't like she never stole in her life. In fact, that's what she was known for in her former pack. She wasn't silent for no reason. Alex listened as she talked about Tetradore and her pack. He seemed to really be listening. She didn't know he'd already heard some things from someone else but she would defend Tetradore. He was her friend and her alpha. She liked that Alex seemed to support her for joining the pack though. It was just nice to know that he didn't think badly of her for being what she was, a Were. And as a Were, it felt only right to be in a pack. It made her feel strangely whole again.

He went on guard the minute she brought up Anastasia and she didn't miss it. He sighed and his brows furrowed as she spoke. She must have really been voicing her dislike of the woman through her tone or something. She almost felt bad about it, almost. He told her that Anastasia didn't speak much of her and she rolled her eyes. She should have expected that. She was probably thought of as inferior, below Anastasia's level so why should she waste a breath to talk about her? She only hated this for Alex cause she was sure he'd like nothing more to have them at least get along. She wanted that too, but she wouldn't drop to Anastasia's level. He was so defensive when it came to Anastasia, saying they lived separate lives but she wanted closure. Alexis tried to reassure him by touching his hand but the simper looked weak. This was really bothering him.

The waitress came about this time, putting their food on the table. It looked and smelled delicious. Alexis' mouth was watering already but she didn't want to seem rude. She wanted to talk to Alex, get to know him better. When she continued with the subject of Anastasia, she saw something flash in his face but it was gone as quick as it came. It was enough to make her feel alittle bad though. Did he really not want to talk about this? She though she was trying to solve a problem but was she really creating one? He told her Anastasia was a duchess and that her preferences were higher class. None of which he mentioned Anastasia was into seemed interesting to Alexis. He told her it wouldn't be easy and that it took a lot of work. Alexis smiled her sweetest smile. "Doesn't mean I can't put forth my best effort."

She made a mental note to find some books on that era and maybe do a little research on the things Anastasia likes. Maybe she'll learn a little something about her in the meantime. Her smile softened as she watched Alexander, wanting to move to subjects he could relax on now. He seemed so tense when they talked about Anastasia. She didn't want to ruin their date. She grabbed a bite of food with her fork and held it out to Alexander, her eyes softening in a way to tell him she was sorry for pushing it. "So, did you have any siblings growing up?"
