South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

rushing and racing and running in circles [Malia]

A week had past since he had spent the whole night at an arcade with Malia. He had thought a lot about her over the last week, mostly about how the two of them were so similar, even if they were so different. Sure, they were both weres, but there was so much more to them. While she was innocent because of her new experiences with being human, he was innocent in that his religious beliefs prevented him from doing many of the things others might do daily. They were both two individuals that went against the grain and it was something that ultimately brought them closer to one another.

He had sent a letter to Malia (something far more personal than a text) and asked her to be ready at 8am and to meet him at the entrance to the beach on this very morning for her very first surfing lesson. He arose early and dressed in his swim trunks and a muscle shirt. He carried his surfboard under his arm as he walked towards the beach, thinking a lot about what he wanted to do for her first lesson. He supposed he would have to figure out how good of a swimmer she was first.

Setting his surfboard against the wall, he leaned up against it as he waited patiently for her to join him. Next to him on the ground was a cooler with some water bottles and a bag that had a couple of towels in it. As he stood there waiting, he couldn't help but feel a little nervous. There was a flutter in his stomach that made him feel a little nauseous. He shouldn't be feeling so sick. It was just a surf lesson, something he had done a thousand times before. So why did this one feel so different?
