i used to rule the world
seas would rise when i gave the word
Alexander was, admittedly, perhaps as ignorant of Alexis and the depth of her father's depravity as she was of him in turn. He had, naturally, recognized his own tendency to keep the world at large at such an arm's length. After all, in a life so infinitely long, it was difficult to continue his efforts to
share his world when they all were so disgruntledly
fleeting. They aged and died far quicker than Alexander was ever ready for - gone within the blink of an eye. For Alexis alone, however, he was making that effort to try. He was making the effort to both open the doors of his own long life and to coax the girl to share her own. His decision to lead that venture overseas was yet another effort on his part to show Alexis
his world - one in which the entirety of earth was available to him at the very drop of a hat. Alexander was, however, entirely aware that
something had shifted within her, that look within her gaze held a far greater intensity than before. He was tempted, almost, to reach out to her, to let his affinity so envelop her and yet, for now, the Dark Hunter hesitated as Alexis hid behind the menu.
The Macedonian King's blue-green gaze slowly shifted downwards towards the cardstock menu in front of him, glancing it over as he inquired for Alexis' own preferences on the menu. That conversation of food, thankfully, seemed to wholly distract the girl from her dismal thoughts and by the time the waitress had come by, he was rewarded with the bright twinkling of her gaze all over again. Alexander's attention deviated from his girlfriend only as the waitress returned with that wine bottle he had requested, pouring the dark red liquid into their wine glasses. A small nod of approval was all he gave the woman as she left the bottle on their table, disappearing back towards the kitchen area. The Dark Hunter glanced up as Alexis reached for her glass, only for the young woman to hold her flute upwards in a toast. A soft chuckle left his lips as he reached for his own glass, mimicking her as he held it upwards. "I'm not sure this qualifies as spontaneous." The Dark Hunter admitted, pausing only to offer his own modified toast. "To dinner dates."
Alexander brought the glass to his lips, sipping on the contents, all while judging the very taste of that liquor. It was flavorful, to be sure, not nearly as good of wine as he had tasted before but, he was hardly in a position to complain too greatly. Instead, while waiting for their meal, Alexander was far more content to turn his attention upon the woman in front of him. "So, Alexis, how are you enjoying life with your new pack?" The Macedonian King inquired with one raised brow. He was, admittedly, showing his cards by questioning after that life she led that she personally had not informed him of and yet, he kept a careful eye all the same on the intel the Dark Hunters had gathered of her, just as he had done of her Alpha for years now. The news that she had moved into the Ark with his Lieutenant's 'son' had certainly been surprising, to say the least, and yet, Alexander was quite curious about how she was enjoying such a rough and tumble sort of lifestyle.
