i used to rule the world
seas would rise when i gave the word
It was intriguing to him, the way that Alexis so keenly discredited any plausibility to rise above her stature in life. Her very outlook was such a stark contrast against the Dark Hunter's own. Alexander was a man of endless ambitions, unsurmountable determination, and perpetual conviction. Perhaps it could be contributed to his own upbringing or the young age in which he'd been thrust in his father's army with the understanding of the mantle he'd one day have to take up and rise above. Either way, the Macedonian royal said nothing of that ready laughter upon her lips, nor did he correct her on the very plausibility of that royal lifestyle - all it required was a proposal, after all, even if Alexander was hardly prepared to offer her such a commitment as marriage. Rather, the Dark Hunter was content to allow the conversation to shift to
traveling as he inquired where
she might like to visit. Alexis, however, seemed near overwhelmed with the very offer, until Alexander mentioned Croatia.
She seemed more than content to take up such an offer and yet, he was unsurprised that she had never owned a passport before. It was more paperwork he would have to see too, though he had largely expected such. The Greek merely nodded briefly, his thoughts already considering all that would be necessary to make that trip possible. Before long, however, the pair had made their way towards their destination tonight, seated around the mirrored surface of an ultramarine blue lake. That very location had been chosen for its entirely romantic atmosphere and yet, it was his admittance that the man who was hosting tonight's event was a Warlock that seemed to prompt a wide eye from the girl. His head tilted to the side as she gestured towards the air around him, his own affinities so effortlessly kicking in to inform him of the magic at play. "Yes, it would seem he's making an effort to enhance the existing atmosphere." Alexander agreed readily.
Alexander watched that glimpse of adoration that crossed her features at his admittance that there were, a few, individuals whom he chose to check in on. Her words prompted an altogether weak simper though he made no effort to taint the clear admiration she held for him. After all, for all those souls he saved, he murdered all the more. It was purposeful, Alexander's effort to change the topic towards the menus they had been provided. Alexis seemed more than eager to indulge him with his own favorites tonight, prompting the King to gesture slightly towards the waitress. It hardly took long to place their order, their waitress altogether quick to return to place that bottle of Merlot in front of them only after filling their glasses.
