She knew she had no business flirting with this guy but what the hell? Tonight was for something spontaneous. He was definitely eye candy and she was sure he could pretty much take anyone home that he wanted to but she could at least give it a go. Who knows? They might hit it off. Not that she was looking to go to a hotel and have sex with him or anything. She wasn't that type of girl. Sure, she found that now she'd had a taste of it, she suddenly had "needs" but she wasn't about to just hook up with strangers. That wasn't her. But she could innocently flirt and show him she was interested in getting to know him better. Nothing wrong with that, right? She wondered if he was new around here. He certainly didn't seem too familiar with the place, but then he also looked pretty comfortable here, like he could be comfortable in any environment really. She could tell he was a Were but she was curious of what he shifted into. She'd seen all kinds at the Ark. Was he something vicious like a lion or bear or something more innocent like a house cat or snake or something? She wanted to ask. Would that be rude? She still didn't understand all the customs and manners. The guy on the stool beside her must know what she is too. Do Were's usually smell each other and wonder what the other is? Is that a usual thing? Either way, he'd already won her over by offering to pay for her drink. Otherwise she was gonna try to sneak it past the bartender or flirt with some foolish guy to get him to pay for it. This way, she didn't even have to flirt first, but now that she'd seen him, she couldn't help but do just that. He was just so...did all country guys look like him? Maybe she should move somewhere more rural. She wondered what he was like. She'd seen some movies of the old West days, when guys held doors for girls and rode horses everywhere. That time seemed so foreign to her but she was still curious of this human world. Did he hold out chairs for girls and stand up when they leave the room? Maybe she'd seen too many movies. She couldn't help but try to be witty when he paid for her drink. She didn't want to just take the drink and dismiss herself into the crowd, not now that she'd seen him. He could have any girl in this club but she'd be a fool if she didn't at least try to gain his attention. She was lonely and even if he would just talk to her, let her in a little and maybe dance with her a little, she'd feel just a tiny bit better about herself. Tonight, she was just looking for a companion. At her question, he lifted his gaze to hers. She swore she could melt in those soft blue eyes. God, they were gorgeous. Then he chuckled and said that depended on her. She smirked. "Do you call everyone ma'am or just the girls you buy drinks for?" It was an odd word to her, but she could have sworn she'd heard it before on one of her movies. She could smell his drink from here. Ew, beer. She wrinkled her nose. "How can everyone drink that stuff? It's nasty." As he turned toward her on the stool, she saw the cowboy hat on his head. It looked good on him. Then he tipped it toward her and all she could do was giggle. It was so cheesy and cute all at the same time. He said it could be on him if she found his company pleasant enough. She leaned toward him a little and lowered her voice. "That depends...can you dance?" He went on about someone else having the honor but she couldn't think of anyone else she wanted to talk to or dance with right now. She raised a brow, waiting for his response. |
