i used to rule the world
seas would rise when i gave the word
He was hardly surprised by the demure girl's reaction to the admittance of just
who he was, at least, somewhat. Rather, a bemused sort of simper seemed to toy at his features, as his head shook ever so slightly.
"No, though I no longer have an active Kingdom like my Godson." He admitted with an almost soft sigh. He still lamented the loss of all he had once had. Though the Macedonian King found some freedom with that rule being so stripped from him, life had equally become far more monotonous in return. It was an exchange the once ambitious military man so struggled with. That idea of a
consort seemed to baffle the young woman and yet, he supposed the comparison was much the same.
"Yes, it is merely a title, much like Queen or Princess or anything of that sort." The relationship, regardless, was quite clear, he was sure. Alexander was oblivious, admittedly, to those thoughts and fears that dwelled upon her mind. After all, he took such little interest in relationships these days that to even consider himself as a man of flights and fancy was almost laughable.
Rather, he allowed the conversation to drift to, instead, her old pack's thoughts of traveling. It was such a shame that she had never seen what the world had to offer her. Though it had changed too fast for Alexander's own liking, there was a certain beauty to be found in it all the same. From crystalline coastlines to busy night marketplaces - he had seen it all and, in turn, he too offered her the full expanse of what life had to offer her to. Her sudden inquiry of where
he'd like to go naturally caused his thoughts to stray to his home country, Greece was, forever the place his heart belonged, even despite all the years. He caught himself, however, before becoming lost in those crisp, vivid memories, only to mention Croatia and his suspicions that she might enjoy such a tropical paradise. Her announcement that
there would be a good place to start brought a small simper to Alexander's features before he nodded in agreement.
"All right, in a few months the weather there should take a turn for the better. I assume you don't have a passport?" He inquired, glancing briefly at the young woman. After all, if she was looking forward to traveling, Alexander saw no reason not to do so immediately.
It hardly took them much longer, however, to arrive to their location, the lake sprawled out in front of them with a collection of tables awaiting them. Alexander got out of the vehicle, only to move around the passenger side to help Alexis from the car, his hand clasped in her own as he guided them to their own table. A small simper danced across the usually stoic man's features as they glanced over the menu. His admission that he knew the chef's name seemed to catch Alexis' attention and yet, the Dark Hunter merely shook his head ever so slightly.
"No, not quite yet. He's a warlock I helped save from a vampire a few years ago. Sometimes I just like to check up on them." He shrugged, hardly defining what he meant by 'them'. His gaze, however, turned briefly down towards the menu at her inquiry of what was good, the King admitted his own weakness for lamb before offering an alternative that seemed far more....delicate, should Alexis find some favor in such a dish instead. He glanced up at the smirk on her lips, her very comment produced a soft chuckle from the man before he nodded in ready agreement.
"Do you drink, Alexis? I fear I've been spoiled with good French wine." He commented as he gestured the waitress towards them, fully intending to indulge in that rich meal they might have before everything
else the night might have in store for them.
