He had always been a mystery to her so the idea of him opening up a little and telling her about this Godson and wedding made her thirsty for more. The idea that he was actually trying warmed her heart in more ways than one. When she asked about the wedding, he said no expense was spared. Her eyes went wide as he spoke of royalty. "Wait, you're related to royalty? No wonder you can afford shiny cars and horses." She smirked teasingly, her eyes twinkling. She could see she'd surprised him by telling him how her father felt about trains and cars and planes and such. He seemed almost bothered at the idea of it but she shrugged it off. At least he'd never have to meet her father. She could see tons of ways that could have gone awry. But then he turned the tables on her by asking if she'd like to go somewhere. She was eager but then he asked where she would want to go and she exhaled. "Wow. Well, anywhere, everywhere. I couldn't begin to think of the first place. There's so many places I've never seen."
She nibbled on her bottom lip thoughtfully, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "Where was your favorite place to go?" She could see he was going into serious territory by telling her about the Hunters and WereHorses. She was overjoyed that he would feel he could trust her with this kind of information about his job, his life. She felt more equal with him in these moments, like her thoughts, her opinion mattered. He seemed distant for a minute, his thoughts obviously on how others would take his lead. She smiled gently. "You can't make everyone happy. There may be some that don't agree but I think in the end, they'll come to see the changes as something good, something that makes them better." She wondered if that would help. She couldn't see any changes he made with the WereHorses and their care as a bad thing. He seemed to care so deeply about it, about them. It was heartwarming. He chuckled at her teasing question before assuring her that he wasn't. And then all at once, they were there and it was magical and inspiring. She was speechless.
She simply stared, not noticing at first that Alexander had gotten out and come around to her side. When her door opened, she blinked in surprise before smiling when she saw his hand. She took it, her smaller one fitting in his like a glove as she stepped out and walked with him over to the tables. She couldn't stop looking around. It was just too beautiful. As she took a seat, she gazed at Alexander. "You certainly like to pull the unexpected." As she glanced around at the other clientele and waitors, she glanced back at him, raising a brow. "So what's good here? Have you eaten at a place like this before?"
