East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Those flashing lights of the jet black car seemed to prompt a curious thought to settle upon the young woman's mind - one of himself as Batman. Alexander could hardly help that light-hearted chuckle upon his lips before his head shook ever so slightly. "Do you think I can really pull of Bruce Wayne?" He inquired with a hint of amusement. He supposed he could see the similarities if he really thought to dwell on it. A billionaire who runs a business by day and hunts at night, even if Alexander held none of those useless gadgets or made any effort to hide his identity behind a mask and a terrible latex bodysuit. Those further inquiries of the vehicle prompted a glimpse of awe upon her features at his admittance that the vehicle had been purchased exclusively for tonight. Though they often chose to stay close to the cafe, their destinations tonight would require far too much time to walk to in the fashion they usually did. That snort from her nose caused an almost inquisitive glimpse from the hunter before the young woman inquired of his intent to return the item. For once, Alexander almost eyed her blankly. He knew, of course, of the concept of returning things in the retail world and yet...such a thing was strictly banned from royalty, even within his day and age. To return something was to bring insult upon the party it was purchased or gifted from. An insult to or from a King was not a thing to be taken lightly.

"I...hadn't thought of it." The Dark Hunter admitted a moment later, eying the back of the vehicle as they approached. "I suppose I could give it to my God-son to store..." He mused, already concluding that the cafe was likely not the best place for such a high-class vehicle, particularly when he didn't have a garage to store it. A small shrug crossed his shoulders before he reached for that passenger side door, opening it for her. He watched her slide into that luxury car, making sure she was comfortable within her seat before he closed the door and moved around the vehicle to join her on the other side. That seatbelt was easily slid across his chest before he put that key in the ignition, letting the car rumble to life beneath them. It hardly took long before Alexander coaxed that vehicle onto the road, the pair merging with traffic towards the very outskirts of town. It was only once they were on the road that Alexis began to inquire of his horses. Those very creatures had been so much of his life and it seemed that Alexis had picked up on such a thing.

His head bobbed ever so slightly at the very mention of his home country. "It is. Across the ocean....have you ever been abroad?" He inquired, glancing over towards her. Though she rarely spoke of her family life, the amazement that crossed her features seemed to suggest she hadn't. It was a shame, considering all that existed out there, even if those countries seemed to change each time he visited. Perhaps he'd have to take her out of this city, someday. It was her inquisitiveness of those horses, however, that prompted Alexander's own hesitant admittance of his recent position within the Hunter Council within the city - working with her kind, to some extent. He was hardly surprised by that raised brow she gave him and yet he gave that inquiry serious consideration. "I hadn't considered it. I mean, I know, of course, that he is more than a horse but....he has the instinct of a horse, the fears of a horse, he startles like any other horse. Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, it's easy to forget." Alexander admitted, speaking almost specifically of his own horse than the cavalry at large. His lips briefly pressed together in some small glimpse of displeasure at his own thoughts, the man considering it a moment longer before he continued. "I'm sure this contributes to why the cavalry is in such disarray. We forget, sometimes, that they are more than animals and should be treated as such...but there isn't exactly a precedent for something like this either." In all the wars he'd fought, in all the cavalries he'd been a part of, the Hunters were the first to use weres like this. A soft sigh left his lips before the King shook his head ever so slightly. "They are going to hate me for how much I intend to change their world." The King mused out loud, briefly considering just how he so intended to dismantle and reorganize that Hunter organization, at least, until he caught himself. This was certainly not the sort of night to contemplate work.
