East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She knew she couldn't change the fact that she would grow old and die some day and he never would but she didn't care about that, at least not right now. Maybe some day he'd grow bored or her or decide she was getting too old for them to relate to each other on the same level and she'd have to come to terms with that and accept it when that time came. But for now, he was just a guy and she was just a girl on a date and she wanted to get to know more about the man she was falling in love with. She'd love nothing more than to hear about his conquests and the wars he'd fought. She'd eagerly listen to him tell her about the hunts he's been on and the evil he's vanquished. She knew it wasn't all rainbows and butterflies and there would be Were's in the victim column but she'd gotten past that. She didn't feel like she was betraying her species anymore. He only killed the bad ones and she knew from firsthand experience that even Were's could be evil.

He agreed that she couldn't ask for a better teacher and she smiled knowingly as she fixed his collar. She could tell by the fleeting look in his eyes that he was thinking of where this night might lead too but she would try to behave herself... at least for now. She took his hand gladly and walked with him down the alley. She didn't care what dark places they went into, as long as she was with him. But when he pushed a button on a remote and a dark car ahead lit up in response, she looked at him in question. "Do you moonlight as Batman too?" Her eyes glittered with mischief. She'd seen some cartoons. In fact, most of the time, they were more interesting than movies or tv shows. She could tell he was proud of himself for picking this place for them to eat. She was eager to see what it was all about. She would be happy with anything if only to spend more time with him. When she asked about the car, he said he bought it yesterday and her eyes widened. He made it sound like it was no big deal to go out and buy a car.

Even she knew that was expensive. She snorted. "Wow. So you gonna return it after tonight?" She raised a brow, curious of his answer. She'd never seen this side of humans before and they'd never talked about money before. It meant nothing to her, of course. He could be poor and living on the streets and she was sure she would still love him the same. She was curious of his thoughts on the subject while they were on it though. Did he have no real need for a car? He couldn't shift and run on four legs like she could so maybe it would make sense for him to have a vehicle. But if so, why didn't he have one before now? She let the thoughts brush aside as he opened the door and helped her into the passenger seat. She buckled up and watched him get in on the driver's side, studying the comfortable way he sat in the seat and started the car. He pulled the car out onto the road and started toward their destination so she started asking about the horses. He told her he had a stable in Greece. Her eyes widened again.

"Oh. Greece... that's far away, right?" She didn't know a lot about other countries and such. She only knew of the lands she'd traveled with her former pack before Sacrosanct. Only where she could go on four legs or two. He told her he had six horses in Greece and that he was a commander here but of WereHorses. Her brow rose. "You don't feel even a little odd, riding horses that you know are also...people?" She wasn't trying to sound offended or anything or put him down for riding them. She was genuinely curious of what it was like to have not just horses but WereHorses and to be able to ride them. Or rather, to have them allow it. She would like to say Alexander wouldn't force it on them like prisoners. She liked that he wasn't trying to hide anything from her. It let her know that he trusted her, or at least that he wanted her to know all parts of what he did. She craved only more.
