i used to rule the world
seas would rise when i gave the word
Alexander was hardly oblivious to the simple fact that, for a couple, the pair knew strikingly little of each other. It was the sort of relationship where the pair happily co-existed without any talk of the past or even what the future might hold. Perhaps it was shallow of him, to make such minimal effort to deepening that very bond and yet, he often restrained himself doing so only due to her mortality. There was nothing either could do about such a thing, naturally, and yet surely it would only serve to protect himself when time inevitably stole her away from him. That quizzical look upon the young woman's features at the mention of her riding ability as a reflection upon himself only served as a reminder of the unfamiliarity she held with his life as a whole. He hardly saw any reason not to admit his own skill as far as horsemanship was concerned, even if the extent of it was severely downplayed. A soft chuckle left the man's lips at her teasing tone. His head bobbed ever so slightly in agreement.
"You certainly could not." He commented as her fingers reached up to fix the collar of his button-down shirt.
That tease on where their night might end up caused his thoughts to tarry, albeit fleetingly, upon what he knew rested beneath Alexis' clothing. The girl was nothing short of gorgeous, he certainly could not deny that. His fingers reached for her's, intertwining as he led her towards the back alley of the cafe. Usually, the pair tended to walk to their destination, what with most of their adventures remaining relatively close towards the Sanctum and yet, tonight, that intended restaurant was hardly within walking distance, at least, not if they were going to arrive on time. Alexander nodded at her definition of a pop-up restaurant, glad she was looking forward to the new experience. Their dining, after all, was the only bit of the date left to the Dark Hunter to figure out. It had taken considerable effort on his part to attempt to find a place she might truly enjoy for her very first date. His hands reached for the keys in his pocket as the pair neared that alleyway, the press of that button caused the lights of the brand new black vehicle to light up, giving away it's once darkened silhouette.
His blue-green eyes briefly met those widened irises of Alexis' own as that inquiry fell from the girl's lips. For a moment, Alexander glanced from her towards the car and back again, only vaguely aware that this was, additionally, the first true show of his wealth that he had displayed to the girl.
"Yes, I bought it yesterday for us to use tonight." Alexander admitted and yet, he was hardly bashful of that ostentatiousness. There were, after all, certain luxuries he'd long since gotten used to. The ability to simply go out and purchase whatever he might desire was surely one of those. He was oblivious, at that moment, of the nervousness the young woman had as he opened the passenger side door for her, allowing her to get into the vehicle. That soft word of thanks prompted a small simper on his features, the man simply nodded in return before he closed the door and moved towards the driver's side of the vehicle.
In no time at all, Alexander was settled at her side with the seatbelt fastened against him. The key fit into the ignition, letting the car purr to life beneath them. In moments, Alexander coaxed the vehicle from that dark alleyway and out onto the streets of the city. His blue-green eyes only briefly left the road at Alexis' inquiry and yet, that gentle probing hardly bothered him in the slightest.
"Not here, no. In Greece, I have one, yes." He nodded, only to pause at that inquiry of how many horses he owned. His eyebrow furrowed as he considered that question.
"Ah...I have a six in Greece. As far here, I recently took up the position of the Commander of the Dark Hunter cavalry, so...I suppose you can say I have a great many now...though the majority of them are all were-horses." He had, admittedly, some reservations of informing the young woman the extent of what he did. It had certainly occurred to him that she might not be in favor of this portion of his hunting and yet...it was very much who he was. He supposed it was a risk he would have to take.
