i used to rule the world
seas would rise when i gave the word
It was clear to Alexander, the nervousness that so beset the young were-vixen at the prospect of this first date. It was obvious in the way she held herself, the way she seemed to trip over her words, and the way she toyed with her clothing, as if she feared she didn't quite belong. Such alone was hardly unusual to the ancient King. He was used to prompting some measure of anxiousness within those souls whom ensnared his attention, as if that royal bloodline was equally as palpable after all those years that had passed. Still, he had seen her at ease within his arms before and it was that very same sort of tranquility he sought to produce as the man complimented her on her appearance, even if it too accompanied that term of endearment from his native language. That raise of her brow hardly prompted any sort of explanation from the man, particularly when that word of appreciation so quickly followed suit and yet, it satisfied him, at least, that she knew his thoughts of how lovely she was. He watched her moved closer towards him as he inquired if Alexis was looking forward to that very night that lay ahead of them.
He was surprised, truly, that it was the idea of the horses that made her the most nervous, particularly when they had been her idea in the first place. He supposed he understood, to some degree, where such uncertainty might stem from. After all, she was very much still an animal herself, in some aspects. Much less that this too was an entirely new area for her. That whole notion that her failing to properly ride a horse was a reflection of his own failure, however, prompted a glimpse of confusion upon her features, one, he supposed, he ought to provide some insight in. After all, if he had any interest in truly pursuing the young woman as more than a passing fancy, surely, she deserved the right to know what she was getting into? "I fear I am quite known in history for my horsemanship. If I can lead whole armies on horseback, you'd be a blight on my record if I can't even get you properly riding a horse." There was, for all the truth behind his admittance, an almost teasing tone to his voice and yet, that subtle playfulness hardly lasted long as her fingers reached up to toy with that drooping collar. He hardly anticipated those coy words, much less the clearly salacious tone at which they were delivered and yet, such a suggestion for something more produced a smirk upon the Macedonian man's features.
It was that very suggestion, and too the less than subtle comment of her jealousy of the
horse, however, that prompted the King to suggest what the very end of their night might surely hold for them. After all, if she had such needs to be fulfilled, was it not his job to do so? That musical giggle upon her lips prompted a warm grin on his own before Alexander reached up to take her hand within his, assuring her that they had to go to at least attend their dinner reservation. The very mention of dinner seemed to prompt a distinct curiosity within the woman and yet, she understood the peculiarity of that 'restaurant' of sorts all too quickly. "It does. This one is here only tonight." It had taken some pulling of strings to secure those reservations without entirely giving away his title as King and yet, in the end, he had secured them all the same. Alexander led her easily down the sidewalk towards the back of the resturant, those darkened shadows hiding that brand new black Mercedes Benz. After all, he hardly intended to force the girl to
walk to that destination just slightly out of town. That car, had been purchased just for tonight, new enough that it still had it's temporary plates taped to the back window. He fished the keys from his pocket, the vehicle beeped in response to that button to unlock before Alexander held open the passenger's door just for her.
