i used to rule the world
seas would rise when i gave the word
There was a distinguishable level of certainty within the Dark Hunter as he stepped down from his flat, his fingers deftly working at the buttons on the wrists of that shirt. He was hardly the type prone to nervousness, after all, his relationship with the young woman had already been consummated. What was dinner in comparison to that intimacy they had already engaged within on numerous occasions? Alexander was well aware of the time, his blue-green eyes easily fell upon the sight of Alexis sitting by herself outside of his cafe. Even so, he took the moment to check on his business, ensuring the baristas were well taken care of before he left for the night. Alexander easily closed that distance between himself and his girlfriend, the Macedonian King breathed in the scent of the fresh air as he stepped out of the cafe, that soft, steadying exhale was nearly inaudible before he made his way towards her. His striking eyes settled upon her, meeting her gaze briefly before her attention seemed to wander up and down his figure, clearly judging his outfit. It amused him, truly. It had, after all, been a long time since Alexander made any sort of effort to look presentable for a singular individual.
That lust, however, was entirely fleeting upon the woman before that anxiety once again took hold. Her nervousness hardly escaped the observant King's notice, even as her name fell sweetly from his lips. His effort to provide her a compliment followed soon after and yet, even with his reassurance Alexis hardly seemed certain of herself and her wardrobe. That soft smile he was given prompted one from the Monarch in turn and yet the way her voice trailed off in her response told him clearly that she was hardly convinced. Alexander's head shook ever so slightly. "Alexitsa mou, you look perfect." He assured her, making a point to ensure that resoluteness whilst also being entirely unable to help that distinctly Greek term of endearment. Alexander was, at the very least, attempting to start that date off right. After all, if he failed to ensure she felt as beautiful as she was, then what hope was there for the rest of the evening? Still, he tried not to allow the girl time to dwell on it long, instead abruptly inquiring if she was looking forward to those plans they had made. The very inquiry, it seemed was quick to redirect her attention, that smile turning to that very beam he liked to see light up her features.
A soft chuckle left his lips at her concern of looking ill placed upon those horses and yet, the King shook his head ever so slightly. "If you do, I fear it means I've failed to teach you." He responded, entirely willing to take on that responsibility. He watched as her hands reached upwards, toying with that very collar that he too had been fiddling with but moments before. Clearly, that shirt hadn't been crisp enough if it failed to retain that shape. His gaze once again met hers as Alexis glanced down at him and yet, that cheeky comment prompted laughter from his lips. " I am sure we can remedy your jealousy by the end of the night." He responded, offering the girl a wink before the man reached up to take her hand in his. "Come, we have a reservation at a pop-up restaurant tonight and we can't be late." That very place had been chosen with such distinct care, the price of the meal wholly irrelevant to the age-old king. The restaurant promised him an outdoor dinner at sunset, only to end with dining amongst the stars by candlelight. He knew well, after all, of Alexis' nature, the man making every effort to embrace that very comfort she found within the outdoors.
